Singularis Group Wins Top National Prize

American Association of Political Consultants (AAPC) awards Kansas City firm 13 “Pollies,” including “Best of the Best” for Direct Mail

SHAWNEE MISSION, KS – The Singularis Group was recently awarded a total of 13 highly prized Pollie Awards from the American Association of Political Consultants (AAPC).  Dubbed “…the Oscars of political advertising,” by Esquire magazine, the Pollies are the industry’s highest honor bestowed upon political consultants at the national and international level.

Among the 13 awards and honors received April 5th by The Singularis Group in Washington, DC was the evening’s most sought-after trophy, the “Best of the Best” award for Direct Mail.  Presented to Singularis Principal, Jared Suhn, the award focused national attention on a mailer entitled “Judgment,” which Singularis produced for the North Carolina Republican Party.  The mail piece beat out other entries produced for Presidential, U.S. Senate, statewide and Congressional campaigns to capture the organization’s top prize for direct mail.

“Judgment” had already captured a Gold Pollie in the category for the Best Use of Negative Contrast for Republican State Legislature; a Bronze Pollie for Republican State Legislature; and was a Reed Finalist for the Toughest Direct Mail Piece.  “Judgment” was part of a multi-series direct mail campaign used against a North Carolina Democratic State House candidate, Patty Philipps, detailing her October 6, 2012 citation for driving while impaired.  Philipps went on to lose the election.  (View “Judgment” mail piece below)

Among the other awards it received, The Singularis Group was honored for its work on behalf of U.S. Senator Deb Fischer’s (R-NE) campaign and for the mail program it conducted for the Kansas Chamber PAC, which led to the defeat of numerous incumbent state senators in the Kansas Republican Primary.

The Pollie Awards are bipartisan honors awarded annually by the AAPC to members of the political advertising and communications industry who have demonstrated superior work on behalf of their candidates and causes. A blind jury of peers selects AAPC award winners.
